服务详情
The anchor chain is a core component connecting the vessel to the anchor, serving the critical functions of vessel berthing, mooring, and offshore platform positioning. We provide professional logistics and transport services for anchor chains from the factory to ports worldwide, covering various types of marine anchor chains and companion accessories such as shackles, swivels, and sinkers.
Common Types
Studlink Anchor Chain
Studless Anchor Chain
Kent Shackles & Connecting Shackles
Anchor Chain Swivels, Anchor Chain Sinkers
Marine Anchor Chain Accessories (End shackles, Kenter joining links, etc.)
Key Transport Challenges
Heavy Single-Unit Weight: A standard length of anchor chain (25–27.5 meters) can weigh several to over ten tons. A full length of chain is even heavier.
Special Shape: The anchor chain is a continuous link structure, prone to sliding and rolling during transport. Securing it is more difficult than for regular-shaped cargo.
Variable Length: Ranging from a few to over a dozen shots, with total lengths reaching hundreds of meters, requiring sufficient loading space and a reasonable stowage plan.
Numerous Accessories: Small components such as shackles, swivels, and sinkers are easily scattered or lost if not properly packaged and listed.
High Handling Requirements: Anchor chains are prone to eccentricity and swaying during lifting, requiring specialized lifting gear or balancing measures.
Our Transport Solutions
Packaging & Securing
Single shots of anchor chain can be bundled into coils (secured with steel strapping or wire rope) for easy forklift and crane handling.
Long chains can be stowed in layers with wooden dunnage between each layer, secured with chain lashing to prevent shifting during transport.
Small accessories such as shackles and swivels are packed in pallets or wooden crates with clear label lists.
All lashing plans comply with the Cargo Securing Manual, and lashing calculation reports are provided for vessel review.
Lifting & Handling
Provide dedicated lifting slings or spreader beams to ensure even load distribution across multiple lifting points and prevent chain distortion.
Arrange on-site lifting guidance, supporting factory loading, terminal unloading, and shipside direct loading.
For extra-long chains (connected in multiple shots), use sectional lifting + deck splicing methods.
Transport Modes
Open-top containers / flat rack containers: suitable for small/medium chain coils (under 5 tons per coil). Secure both sides after packing to prevent rolling.
Breakbulk stowage on deck / in holds: suitable for large anchor chains or full-chain shipments. Bare stowage; we provide full lashing materials and installation.
Road Transport: Flatbeds or low-bed flatbeds, with chains coiled for direct loading, or long chains straightened and secured to the vehicle.
Sea Freight:
Multimodal Transport: Road + sea + inland barge combination for door-to-door service.
